The history of Hacienda Monasterio is intertwined with the rich wine tradition of Ribera del Duero. Since its founding in 1990, this winery has been a beacon of excellence under the direction of Peter Sisseck, who came to the region with the vision of creating exceptional wines. Located in a privileged position between Pesquera and Valbuena de Duero, the farm has 108 hectares dedicated to the cultivation of grapes. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the winery consists of three independent warehouses, each equipped with temperature and humidity control to guarantee optimal winemaking and aging conditions. Regarding winemaking, Hacienda Monasterio adopts a meticulous and respectful approach to the raw material. The harvest is done by hand, followed by a rigorous selection on the sorting tables before destemming. Fermentation is carried out with natural yeasts, and the maceration process is prolonged to obtain optimal extraction of the tannins. Aging takes place in French oak barrels for a minimum of 12 months, followed by clarification with fresh egg whites to stabilize the wine before bottling. Regarding grape varieties, Tinto Fino is the main variety, complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec. Viticulture is carried out in an ecological way, respecting the natural balance of the land and promoting biodiversity. This rigorous approach to all stages of the winemaking process allows Hacienda Monasterio to produce wines of exceptional quality and distinctive character that reflect the very essence of Ribera del Duero.
