Alexander Gordon & Co Distillery

Alexander Gordon founded the distillery in 1769 in Southwark, London, UK. It is said that the Gordon were the first founders of what is known as London Dry Gin.

In 1877 the company was sold to John Currie and Co. AL 1898 merged with Ch. Tanqueray founded the Tanqueray Gordon & Co., which caused that, at that time, they were the largest gin company in the world. With the German bombing of World War II, the distillery of London was destroyed, and the only thing that remained was the copper pot, called "Old Tom", is more than 200 years old.
