Buy Red Oak Wines

Oak-aged red wines, also known as red oak wines, are distinguished by their aging process in oak barrels, which greatly contributes to their unique characteristics. During this period, which usually lasts between three and six months, the wine absorbs the flavors and aromas of the wood, providing complexity and structure.

  • How are red oak wines made?

Red wines with the Roble designation are made through an aging process in oak barrels, generally for a period of three to six months. During this time, the wine interacts with the oak wood, absorbing its aromatic compounds and tannins. This process gives the wine characteristic notes of vanilla, toast, and spices, which add to the characteristics of the grape. The aging in barrels is not if in other types of wines, such as Reserva or Gran Reserva, which results in softer and more accessible red wines.

  • What are red Oak wines like?

Roble red wines are known for their characteristic flavor profile, which results from aging in oak barrels for a relatively short period. This brief aging brings nuances of vanilla, toast, and spices to the fresh fruit of the grape, creating a harmonious balance. Roble red wines are appreciated for their softness and accessibility, presenting round tannins and a well-integrated structure. Their versatility makes them suitable for a variety of pairings, but they tend to stand out especially with roasted meats, cheeses, and dishes with strong flavors.
