From 1997, Ribeira Sacra is known as one of the most important Origin Denominations from Galicia. It can be found at the northwest of Spain just at the north of Portugal. This place has a huge winery tradition proceeding from roman ancient times even though that during middle age monasteries grew up as wine productors. This zone winery producers achieve some special wines thank to their vineyards that can be found on their valleys and terraces made by Miño and Sil rivers.   • Which wines produce Ribeira Sacra?

    The wine production starts with a very complicated hand harvest over their vineyards. They use concrete grape types due to their special climate. As white varieties they use Loureira, Treixadura, Godello, Dona Branca, Albariño and Torrontés. This varieties produce fresh and fruity wines with its fullness in mouth. Additionally, the smell is intense and proceed from the wine variety. On the other hand, their red wines are made of Mencía, Brancellao, Merenzao, Tempranillo, Sousón, Garnatxa Tintorera and Mouratón that they make red intense and brilliant wines. At nose these wines are pleasant, fruity, savour and fleshy.
