At the turbulent end of the 19th century, the Roig family faced the desolation of phylloxera, seeing their vineyards in the Empordà, Mollet de Peralada, die from the plague. The decision to move to the south of France, to Roussillon, allowed for a renaissance. Since 1896, great-grandfather Quim led the replanting, choosing Samsó for its yields, transforming over time its production into fresh and Mediterranean wines. Located on the Mollet de Peralada plain, 50 meters above sea level, the Roig Parals vineyards thrive on sandy soils with touches of clay and alluvial sediments. The Mediterranean climate, marked by the Tramontana and low rainfall, gives a unique personality to its wines. The Roig Parals family, with pride and commitment, keeps the ancestral tradition alive, perfecting day by day the legacy that their ancestors started.
