The Tempranillo grape variety is native to La Rioja, but it also stands out in areas such as Ribera del Duero where it is known as Tinto Fino or Tinto del País, in Catalonia it is known as Ull de Llebre, and in Madrid, Tinto de Toro. In each place where Tempranillo is grown, the grape is known in a different way, even though it is the same variety. It doesn't matter if we find Tempranillo wines, such as Tinto Fino wines, Tinto del País wines, Ull de Llebre wines or Tinto de Toro red wines.
As its name indicates, it is an early grape variety when ripe. This grape adapts perfectly to the climate of the Ribera del Duero and La Rioja. This type of grape is perfect for using other varieties such as Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon. It is a very versatile grape capable of producing young Tempranillo wine, Tempranillo Crianza wine or Tempranillo Gran Reserva wine. The color is so intense and characteristic that it evolves from violet to maroon tones. Its flavor varies depending on the time it spends in the barrel or in the bottle. It has very unique aromas reminiscent of fruit, notes of cocoa and vanilla. In fact, the aromatic variety of Tempranillo wine is immense and upon tasting we realize that they combine perfectly with the oak, as well as having a very smooth entry on the palate.
