Ballantine's 21 years old is a blended whiskey from the Highland region, Scotland, made from the best selection of malts and grain distillates. Subjected to a double distillation, in copper stills, it is considered a high quality Scotch whiskey and one of the most select in the world.
Awarded with several silver medals in the "International Spirits Challenge" and "International Wine & Spirits Competition".
The history of Ballantine's Scotch Whiskey begins in the Scottish town of Edinburgh in 1827. George Ballantine opened a small grocery store there at just 19 years of age with a stand including wine and spirits, after a new law in 1823 allowed the distillation of Scotch whiskey by individuals. The business flourished and in 1837 he moved the business to the prestigious South Bridge area, near Princes Street, in Edinburgh.
The Highland region is the largest whiskey region in all of Scotland. With 47 distilleries spread across the Highlands and Islands, it boasts the widest variety of styles and is home to some of the most famous names in whisky. - George Ballantine and Son LTD
